If you are a Windows or a Macintosh user and wish to download the 24 rune futhark used in Norse runology,
please download the zip(windows) or the hqx (macintosh) file below by clicking on the link.
You should know that there are one or two errors in the fonts. Jera is facing the wrong way (i.e. it's a mirror
image) and the spacing between the characters is a bit haphazard.
If you are going to use the fonts to send messages, please remember that your correspondents will also need to have
the same font installed on their own PCs.
Otherwise all they will see in any email or document you send will be a jumble of Roman
letters in the default font for their system - usually Courier or Helvetica.
The only way around this is to send graphic images of your messages instead. You can do this by typing the message in
a text or Word document, print it and scan it. Then you can place the scanned image in the body of an email, or send it
as an attachment.
For assistance in downloading, unzipping and installing fonts on your system, please
click here for the Runemaker Group guide
to font installation or download the text file.
Oswald the Runemaker offers his own design runic fonts on this page:
http://www.runemaker.com/wares/fonts.shtml.
They include all
the correctly drawn runes of both the Elder Futhark and the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc supplied with a keyboard map. |
