Runic lore and Rune Magick

A workshop with Freya Aswynn on May 7^th - 9^{th I} in Italy

“Hidden within the runes lies the path to initiation into the northern mysteries”

The Runes are possibly the most ancient native European magical language. Their roots lie deep into the ancestral soil of Europe, flourishing in the continent’s spiritual traditions. They have been carved in wood and in stone by pagan Norse, German and Celtic tribes, giving shape and visible appearance to the language of spirit and soul. Shamans and craftsmen, those skilled in their use, were the core of this ancient culture.

After millennia of use, still the Runes bear within them great power and knowledge, to be unlocked by who will and dares to meet them. In this workshop, participants will have the chance to understand the basic character of each Rune, receive methods of practical use in magick and divination, experience the force of the Runes as vehicle of personal transformation. Also those new to the subject will be fully involved in the activity.

The Teacher:

Freya Aswynn is one of the founders of modern study of Rune as a living tradition and is skilled by decades of use and love of this alphabet. Raised in the direst circumstances mid-twentieth century can offer, she endured and educated herself. Her meeting with Runes, Nordic tradition and God Woden marked the beginning of a new life dedicated to study and practice. Freya is author of cornerstone books  on Runelore and beautiful Nordic hymns, she has also been leading esoteric orders and even a commune in London with outstanding success. In last years she is dedicated to continual lecturing and teaching, living a retreated life in warm Spain.

Details and reservation:

The workshop will take place near Modena, in a hillside region of northern Italy. A secluded but welcoming lodge in the woods will be at our disposal for the complete seminar, with traditional meals prepared by the owner family. Details to reach the place will be given to the participants. Bologna international airport and Modena rail station are both within an easy 1 hour reach of the destination.

Participation fee is 340€, including 3 nights of accommodation and all meals. To reserve a place we require an advance payment of 200€, due by end of March. We have strictly limited the number of attendees to 10 people; the limited slots are expected to fill very quickly, so booking as soon as possible is recommended.
